Eiffel tower how to book tickets

First of all, we strongly recommend booking the Eiffel Tower tickets online in advance. The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic attractions in Paris and its world-wide known, receiving thousands of tourists per day. As you can imagine, tickets sell out very quickly so it’s best you book your tickets in at least several weeks or months in advance.

You can book your ticket on the official website if you want to go up the Eiffel Tower at your leisure. Just remember to present yourself there at the time slot you’ve chosen. Please note they don’t do refunds if you can’t make it to the Eiffel Tower on the day you’ve booked.

If the Eiffel tower is fully booked on your desired date, another option is to book a tour with a travel agency to ensure you can get your tickets. Usually they are pricier but not a lot more expensive as they include a guided visit of the Eiffel Tower. This may be of your interest if you’d like to know more about the creation of the tower, its known facts and its architect.

Depending on which floor you’d like to go up to in the Eiffel Tower, you have a range of different prices. If you like this idea of having a guided tour to maximise your Eiffel tower experience, consider looking on TourScanner where you have a comprehensive list of many providers such as Viator, Musement or Leezair who offer reliable tours with entrance tickets up the Eiffel Tower.

It can be tedious to wait around in queues and we don’t want to waste our precious time in Paris. For that there is a solution! You can find many skip-the-line tickets for a little higher price than the normal ticket but you get the advantage of skipping the line and saving time.

The official website of the Eiffel Tower doesn’t offer skip-the-line tickets, however if you book online you can get an e-ticket (up to 60 days before your visit). These type of tickets save you time with fast-track security checks and no need to queue at the Eiffel Tower ticket offices.

When is the best time to go to the Eiffel Tower?

Eiffel tower by night

Going to the Eiffel Tower seems like whenever is the perfect time to go but there are a few things you’d have to take into account.

The Eiffel Tower is always crowded and has long queues to go up, so we suggest you go in the early morning or during weekdays in January, February, March and November through mid-December. Be careful with this though because the weather in Paris isn’t great all the time. When the weather is bad, the fog can get in the way and limit your views of Paris from atop the Eiffel Tower. That’s why we advise you check the weather beforehand but usually the fog can go away mid-morning.

  • Walk on the see-through floor. If you dare to do this, you can walk on the 187-foot-high see-through floor next to the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant on the 1st Warning tip: Those who are afraid of heights or suffer from vertigo shouldn’t try to do this. It can be very scary.
  • Dining at the Eiffel Tower. There are numerous dining options inside the Eiffel Tower, believe it or not. Ranging from snack bar to multi-course French cuisine. On the first floor you have “58 Tour Eiffel” which offers lunch menus and multi-course dinners. General tips you need to know before going to the Eiffel Tower

  • You can stay at the Eiffel Tower however much time you want but remember you can’t go back in once you’ve come out.
  • Expect long lines for descending as there’s only one single elevator in each floor and when there’s a lot of people, you can wait there for quite a bit.
  • If you want to experience something different on the Eiffel Tower, visit it during night time to witness a five-minute luminous spectacle every hour after the sunset.
  • Don’t be late for your time of visit, everybody has a time slot to enter the Eiffel Tower and if you’re 30 minutes late you won’t be allowed in. If this happens, you won’t get your money back.

Enjoy the view and don’t forget your camera 🙂
